Apple have never been much into hard core gaming industry.The Apple TV 4th gen. is the most closest gaming device that Apple has to offer.Apple TV is made to make your existing TV experience much simpler and  better. It may not have the top end specs. like streaming 4K content but as the 4K content industry is yet growing you won't face any issues with the Apple TV.

So What's So Special About Apple TV?

Well Apple TV 4th gen is the 1st Apple TV  to feature a dedicated App Store for Apps which is open to the developers so they can create Apps that have never been on a traditional TV.
The App store has Gaming Apps like Asphalt 8,Real Racing 3,Riptide GP series and many more.
The App store also offers streaming apps like Netflix,Hulu,HBO NOW,CBS News,NBA sports,PBS,VEVO,NBC,SHOWTIME and many more,what's diffrent here is you get a Siri remote with the Apple TV 4th gen. in the Box.
The Siri remote as you can see has a menu button which is often used as a back button and a TV button for going into Home screen,an volume +/-  button,A dedicated Siri button and a Play Pause button.It even has an IR blaster on top to directly sleep/wake your TV.
But wait what's that Black Matt finished glass portion  on the Siri remote?
Well here comes the simplicity of the Apple TV,it's a touch track Pad on the Siri remote made to simplify all the user interactions with the TV.
You can use it to scroll through the content or scrub while streaming or can add more functionality while gaming.The touch pad even clicks to select media etc. and trust me you have to experience it while using,it makes the interactions so much easier.

Gaming experience:You can maximize your gaming experience by connecting it to Bluetooth controllers,but don't just throw your PS4 or Xbox as Apple TV won't offer you games like GTA5 etc. 
Although the most exciting feature for many in Apple TV 4th gen is Siri.It very well integrated into the device to take full advantages of the 2 microphones provided into the Siri remote itself.Siri can take you to specific shows with specific part or story of the full show.
You can ask her even basic things like news,weather,specific movies like "Hey siri show me new animated family movies"(You need to keep holding the Siri button on the Siri remote)
After all this the Siri remote can itself last 2 months on a single charge,and you can charge it anytime with your existing lightning cable or the one provided in the box with Apple TV 4th gen. and still use it.

Verdict 
Apple TV 4th gen is still one of  the best  devise for streaming out there for non Apple users,and the best device for existing Apple users yet in 2017 obviously until Apple don't surprise us with new Apple TV 5th gen. at WWDC 2017
