Smart-Glasses By Apple?

In 2013 google launched their first optically head mounted wearable technology also known as "Project Glass" at a price of $1500.Since then many tech. enthusiasts have been asking Tim Cook about Apple's take on the google glass,Tim answered about his take on google glass in D11 conference in 2013,He stated
I think there is some positive points in the product, it’s probably more likely to appeal to a certain vertical markets. I think the broad range of appeal is hard to see.Wearable is incredibly interesting, and this could be a profound area
And after being asked about what type of wearable Apple was interested in Tim said
I’m interested in a great product. I think in terms of glasses because I have to wear them as I can’t see without them I don’t know a lot of people that wear them who don’t have to, people that do wear them want them to be light, want them to be obtrusive, they probably want them to reflect their fashion you know their style.
So I think from a main stream point of view it’s difficult to see.
So it's hard to believe that Apple might be interested in glass but recently a patent filed by Apple stated:
This embodiment is particularly useful when using a head-mounted display comprising the camera and the screen. For example, the head-mounted display is a video-see-through head-mounted display (HMD). It is typically not possible for the user to touch the head-mounted screen in a manner like a touchscreen. However, the camera that captures an image of the real environment may also be used to detect image positions of the user’s finger in the image. The image positions of the user’s finger could be equivalent to touching points touched by the user’s finger on the touchscreen…The mobile device may perform an action related to the at least one point of interest if at least part of the computer-generated virtual object blended in on the semi-transparent screen is overlapped by a user’s finger or device held by the user.
So it would be nice to see if Apple could turn google's failure in smart-glasses into success!
